Reviews"Ice on Fire should not only be read by every Methodist; it should be read by all people who are hungry for more of God and how they could experience a visitation from God. This book will encourage the faith of all who read it. I heartily recommend the book, I recommend its author. Scott Kelso lives what he has written. He is a wonderful, well-trained-pastor with a heart for the Peace of Jesus, the Power of the Spirit, and the Presence of the Father’s embrace. Fire could be used by the Holy Spirit to warm the hearts of those who read it." "Scott is still on fire himself after 30 years, and in this inspiring book, he shares the secrets of his fire with us." "Scott is a visionary leader with a passion for Christ and a heart of integrity who has much insight and wisdom to offer to the body of Christ. Ice on Fire is filled with the insights and stories that could be the catalyst for a fresh move of the Spirit in the churches of those who read it!" "His sections on the Holy Spirit and charismatic renewal are prophetic statements about the direction of the church in the 21st century. I pray that many pastors as well as laypersons will read this book and will be changed from coldness and ice to fire-brands for God."
Book ExcerptsOur myopic view of the supernatural is actually working to keep us in bondage to spiritual powers. In fact, only Western Christianity’s intellectual approach views this cosmic battle (that hoists dark and forbidding things upon the people of the earth) as nothing more than “ignorant, primitive superstition.” Because of man’s sin condition, we desperately need a biblical worldview to navigate the war zone called Planet Earth. I believe the church entering the 21th century must give credence to the plethora of “evidence” concerning Satan and the Kingdom of evil as portrayed in the Bible and as experienced in everyday life. |
